Epp & Associates, Inc. has been involved with many facets of surveying in Colorado, Montana, Wyoming, Utah and recently in New Mexico. Since starting in 1978, we have experienced an organization with up to 28 employees while working at Avon, Colorado during the construction of "The Charter at Beaver Creek" and the development of the Rienau No.2 mine and Northern No.1 Mine near Meeker, Colorado. Condominium construction was also our reason for having a presence in Steamboat Springs, CO.

Seismograph surveying was done near Havre, MT for a company from Calgary, Alberta, Canada for Compagnie Generale de Geophysique under the watchful eye of Mr. Ron Williamson. Seismograph surveying was also done in the Mountains of Colorado for CGG with the aid of a helicopter. Peter's first seismograph surveying experience was on the MacKenzie River Delta in the Northwest Territories of northern Canada in the winter of 1973. After that, all other places of work seemed less cold.

Many years have been enjoyed providing surveying services to the mining industry first in Colorado and then also in Wyoming, Utah and New Mexico. Peter's underground surveying experience has opened doors to do underground mine surveying which is not a part of surveying pursued by most surveyors. This experience was gained while employed for four years at the Empire Energy Mines located southwest of Craig, CO. and subsequently at the various mines. We have been involved in GPS control networks over large areas and recently a 40 Section breakdown.

Recently we have worked for the two largest aggregate mining companies in Colorado in the Front Range area of Colorado. This included establishing GPS control networks for existing and new operations, boundary and topographical surveying. Construction staking for roads and infrastructure at the various sites was done which included the surveying of all of the facilities of an existing site, providing the information to the design engineers and then staking the new site, down to bolt locations for the structure. Success was enjoyed as the many structures were then moved and set in place on the new concrete with the structures fitting on the bolts. Stockpile surveys and volume calculations are a service also provided to the mining industry.

Considerable work has been done for Electrical Generating Stations with surveying for environmental upgrades, boundary and construction staking as well as marine surveys to determine sedimentation of ponds to calculate the length of projected service prior to dredging operations. We specialize in the use of marine surveying using depth sounders integrated with RTK GPS which allows for rapid data acquisition. We then contour the bottom of the ponds and provide volumes as well as data storage available. Stockpile surveys have been done.
